At Buhl Baptist Church we worship the God who created the universe. Our God loves us and wants to have a personal relationship with us. The Bible teaches that we marred God’s original purpose for us. We sinned! However, God’s love pursued us, in spite of our sin (Romans 5:8) God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, as a substitute for our sin problem (1 Tim. 2:5). God wants us to return to the purpose He intended for us.
We have a simple desire: to see people come to know Jesus Christ and grow in their Christian faith. For over 100 years, we have been helping to spread God's love in our community and throughout the world.
In our community there are in church activities and out of church activities. In church there is the weekly worship service; Bible study classes; children’s activities such as Vacation Bible school; weekly youth activities plus camps, retreats and the like.
Some of the out of church activities are supplying snacks to workers at Buhl elementary; passing out gift bags at Christmas; supplying benevolent bags during the Holidays; picking up trash in the community.
Buhl belongs to a larger network of Christian churches. In Tuscaloosa County we belong to the Tuscaloosa Baptist Association, which consists of about seventy churches. We support: a ministry center for addressing people’s physical needs; The Good Samaritan clinic, which is a free medical clinic for uninsured working people; disaster response teams; and training for pastors and church leaders.
On a larger scale we take part in the Southern Baptist Convention. Southern Baptist support: a large disaster relief network; many church and mission plants; six seminaries for training church leaders and missionaries; and approximately 4,000 missionaries in hundreds of countries around the world.
